With her big smile and ever-changing Elton John-style glasses, Katherine is the face of Elsie’s, although she’d be the first to say it’s all about her team. Cohen Jordan and Chad Jordan are excited about Elsie’s Franchise Incorporated, a spin-off company that will handle the franchising end of the business with the help of a support agency. This week, Elsie’s announced they will begin offering franchise opportunities to entrepreneurs in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Connecticut, with other states to follow. Recently, the website Thrillist alerted the business that a video about their pickle sandwiches is the most watched video on that website's Facebook page. They’ve fine-tuned their offerings and beefed up their team as pickle lovers make pilgrimages - some across several state lines - to get a taste of their hoagie-style sandwiches and pickle or cucumber roll-ups. They’ve also watched celebrities - sports figures, Pee-wee Herman, George Takei, the hosts of “Good Morning, America’’ - gush about their bread-free sandwiches and wraps. Since opening their pickle-based sandwich business in Haddon Township last year, the owners of Elsie’s estimate they’ve sold between 65,000 and 75,000 pickles.
